Share a protocol via QR code
From cloud upload to signing on the participant’s own device
Upload protocol to the cloud
When a protocol is generated and an internet connection is active, the preview is uploaded to the cloud automatically.
QR code in the protocol reader
After generation, the protocol reader shows a QR code — participants can open the protocol on their own device.
Scan the QR code
The participant scans the QR code with their own smartphone or tablet — no shared device required.
Read and sign
On their own device, the participant reads the protocol and adds their signature directly in the browser.
Import signature and finish
The protocol owner downloads the participant signature and then finalizes the protocol.
With Protocol QR Preview share, participants can read a protocol on their own device and sign digitally — without everyone working on the same tablet or phone.
Enable the module
Under Settings → Modules, the label is “Protocol QR Preview share”.
- On: Sharing the protocol QR preview is allowed.
- Off: No QR code for sharing; participants cannot sign via the preview.
How it works
Short overview in five steps:
- Cloud upload — When a protocol is generated and an active internet connection is available, the preview is uploaded to the cloud automatically.
- QR code in the reader — After generation, the protocol reader shows a QR code (green QR icon in the toolbar).
- Participant scans — The participant scans the code with their own smartphone or tablet.
- Read and sign — On their own device they read the protocol in the protocol viewer and add their signature.
- Import signature — The protocol owner downloads the participant signature in the app (refresh icon on the signature card) and can then finish the protocol.
When to use this module
- On-site handovers where tenants or owners should review and sign on their own device
- Several participants with their own devices
- Situations where you want to share the protocol immediately without sending email
Notes
- Offline: Without an internet connection, the preview is not uploaded to the cloud — the QR code is only available after a successful upload.
- Creator signature and participant signatures can happen separately — the owner imports the participant signature once it is in the cloud.
