Synchronization

The Protocol App keeps objects, contacts, addresses, and settings locally so you can work offline. Synchronization aligns local data with the workspace in the cloud.

Behaviour

  • On app start (when online): automatic synchronization.
  • When opening an object (when online): the current version is fetched from the server.
  • Manual: sync button in the header or pull to refresh on the Start screen — same full sync as on start.

Without internet, lists and content are loaded from local data only; no cloud sync runs.

Offline

Changes to objects are saved locally and sent to the server on the next synchronization (when online).

Sync history

Under Settings → Tools → Sync history you can view completed synchronizations with date and status. Details list only the objects that were updated.

Conflicts

If the same object is opened and saved at the same time on multiple devices, the most recently saved version may overwrite the other (last write wins).

Notes

  • Sync applies to the currently selected workspace (see Team users).
  • Without a valid sign-in, no cloud sync is possible.
