Display, translation and accessibility
The protocol viewer header offers several controls to adjust how content is displayed and to read protocols in another language.
| Icon | Function |
|---|---|
| Globe | Browser translation guide |
| Moon / Sun | Toggle dark mode |
| Text (A) | Choose text size |
Translation (browser — no built-in translator)
The protocol viewer does not include its own translation engine for protocol text. Use your browser’s built-in translation instead — e.g. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari (sometimes with an extension).
- Tap the globe icon in the header.
- The “Browser Translation Guide” page opens with step-by-step instructions for Chrome (recommended), Edge, and Safari — how to install or use each browser’s translation feature.
- Follow the steps for your browser to translate the entire page into your target language.
Typical in Chrome: Right-click the page → “Translate to …”, or use the translate icon in the address bar.
The original language of the protocol remains legally authoritative. Automatic translations are for understanding only and may contain errors — double-check critical wording against the original if needed.
Text size
To improve readability, change the text size in the viewer:
- Tap the text icon (A) in the header.
- Choose Small (A−), Normal (A), or Large (A+).
- The setting applies to the whole viewer.
You can also use the browser zoom (Ctrl/Cmd + plus/minus).
Dark mode
The viewer supports light and dark appearance:
- Tap moon (switch to light mode) or sun (switch to dark mode) in the header.
- Your choice is saved in the browser and restored on your next visit.
Dark mode improves readability in low light and reduces glare on OLED screens.
Further accessibility
The viewer aims to be readable and operable: sensible headings, sufficient contrast, focusable controls, and alt text for images where authors provided it.
Use system assistive features on your device if needed (e.g. larger text, screen readers).
